Casey Walsh is the owner and founder of Stand Up Guys Junk Removal. He started his first business hauling junk at age 16 while still attending Pope High School in Marietta, Georgia.
What began as a simple way to make a few extra bucks while helping neighbors quickly turned into something much bigger. By the time he graduated, Casey was already working full-time after school and struggling to keep up with the growing demand for his services.
The summer after graduation he continued hauling junk around town, but that didn’t last. Being young, Casey wanted to explore other opportunities and see what life had to offer. Still, the feeling of owning his own business, working for himself and making his own money never left his mind. It was both a blessing and a curse—no other job ever measured up.
In the years that followed he tried different jobs, worked for various companies, even valet parked at night to save money for college. But the itch to work for himself never went away, and eventually, became too strong to ignore.
Stand Up Guys Was Officially Born
After two years of saving, Casey made a bold decision. In 2005, instead of enrolling in college as planned, he dusted off his old business plan and invested every dime he had into a truck, some small advertising and his dream.
Since then, the company has been on an incredible journey, and Stand Up Guys has a rich history. Growing Stand Up Guys from just one man, an old pickup truck and some junk into what it is today has been nothing short of amazing.
Stand Up Guys has been through several trucks (some solid, some lemons) and tested many marketing strategies. Through it all, the team kept pushing forward. And with the jobs they’re creating, the people they’re helping (and the way the company is growing), many are thankful that Casey followed his dream.
